Korean Movies lossing it's market in Japan

2007.05.01
Last year in most Asia countries the Korean wave or "Hallyu" have started because of the popular Korean movies. But this Korean wave have not hit the market in Japan.
In 2005 there were a couple of popular Korean movies which have hit the Japan market which they received around US$2686 at the end of the year.
But last year two hit Korean movies "King and the Clown" & "The Host" did not do so well, and compared to 2005 it dropped 82%.
This year the situation is even worst. Compared to last year this time of the year there should be one movie airing in Japan but up to now there's not one yet.
Although there are Japanese version DVD of the movie released, but there is around 70 or more movies that aren't aired in the cinema.
Even though movie "Once in a summer" starring Lee Byung Hun was up in the cinema a month ago, but the box office ranking might not be in the top 10, this have made the Korean movie company lost hope in the Japanese movie market.
Last year Korean movie company have high hopes in moving in the Japanese market but if the movies does not receive good result this would be a tough task for the Koreans.

Although I'm not too into Korean movies but I do feel concern about the Korean movies not hitting the Japanese market.
Even though "Virgin Snow" is Japan/Korea cooperation not a fully Korean movie, but I do hope they do good in Japan (and hope all the credit won't be from Aoi).

Is this true? But I think they're appreciating k-movies more.
